The first speaker today was Linda Schafer, owner of GL Specialties in Golden, Colorado. Linda worked in the insurance industry for many years and found that it was becoming very impersonal, At one point in time you could call the insurance company and plead for a client who had one ticket to keep their rates down, now it’s all a numbers game and there is forgiveness. After looking into many Promotional Product companies, she found Kaiser Blair – the only company that had a one-page contract with no real restrictions and if she finds a better company, she can take her clients with her. Linda just went to a promotional product convention and brought back several items for us to look at. The first and most popular this time of year, golf kits, these little bags have your name on the side and can be filled with aspirin, tees, band aids, sunscreen, and many other small items. The cost for an item like this depends on what you put inside – from 1.27 to 14.00 per bag. It is the perfect item for any golf tournament. The second item was the simple nail file, starting at .79 (plus set up and shipping) these files can be personalized, made of glass or layered cardboard and stay with your clients for a long time. A new item Linda found was a tech organizer, this item is a soft suede bag that has pockets for cords, plugs and even small tech items. They come in a variety of colors with your name on the side. Staying with the bags – they had a woven draw string gift bag – this is large enough for small gifts for clients, or for a wedding. This to comes in a variety of colors and imprint. Linda really liked her next item – personalized wood coasters – these are laser etched with your logo and come in a nice case. These were very nice and very attractive. The next item Linda passed around was sunglasses – sunglasses are also very popular this time of year, with your logo on the arm. Linda also has found a company that will do a logo on one side and a different image on the other at no extra cost. Sunglasses start at 1.60 with a minimum of 250 glasses. Her last item was lanyards – there are over a hundred different types of lanyards from how they hold the badge, do you want it full color or single color, do you want them to be ½” or ¾” inch wide and what length do you need 34” or 45”. With lanyards the minimum is generally 50. In the promotional product industry you can see that the possibilities are endless, and Linda can help you figure what you need for your application. So, if you are looking for promotional products to impress your clients, give Linda and GL Specialties a call for the Best Product • Best Price • Best Suppliers!
