Today’s only speaker was Dr. Becci Noren-Lewis of Always Gentle Chiropractic in Denver, Colorado. Dr. Becci has been focusing on a couple words during the first few months of this year. The first is:
Mindfulness: the basic human ability to be fully present, aware of where we are and what we are doing, and not over reactive or overwhelmed by what’s going on around us. Synonym: Heedfulness (noun) the trait of staying aware of (paying close attention to) your responsibilities.
To Becci, this has meant taking stock of where she is and where she is headed. As Dr. Becci looks back over her last 25 years in practice, she is amazed at all of the people that she has helped and knows that she wants to help even more. How does this happen? Dr. Becci has spent the last month thinking about this and the word that came to her mind was:
Thoughtful: Given to careful thought; reflective, engrossed in thought, having or showing heed for wellbeing or happiness of others and the propensity for anticipating their needs and wishes.
To be followed with:
Thoughtfulness: a calm, lengthy, intent consideration, continuous and profound contemplation or musing on a subject or series of subjects of a deep or abstruse nature.
To Dr. Becci this means to be paying even more attention to what is said and even what is not said when I am with anyone, whether it be a patient, a friend or her family. If you are looking for a chiropractor who is present and mindful and will listen to what you and your body are saying give Dr. Becci Noren-Lewis a call.
