She is a Doctor of Chiropractic that is Advanced Proficiency Rated in the Activator Methods Technique. Dr. Noren-Lewis graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa 24 years ago this June. She co-founded and serves as President of the Colorado Women’s Chiropractic Association, which began in 1999. This organization started to service the Chiropractic community in 1917. In 2005 the Colorado Chiropractic Association recognized as “Chiropractor of the Year” for her service to the organization. Today, Dr. Noren-Lewis took the rest of her time discussing the basics of chiropractic medicine.
What is Chiropractic medicine? It is the science which is concerned with the relationship between structure, primarily the spine, and the function, primarily the nervous system of the human body as that relationship may affect the restoration and preservation of health.
Nervous System – Brain/Spinal Cord = Computer
Spine/Skull = Structure & Protection
Subluxation – the misalignment of the vertebrae producing nerve pressure, irritation or dysfunction. (This can apply to any joint in the body.)
Adjustment – a precise method of realigning the misaligned or subluxated vertebrae or other joints in the body.
The Activator Methods Technique – (alternative to the crunch method) is having its 50th anniversary this year. This method uses pin point accuracy with an Activator that can be adjusted for specific areas of the body.
Continuing Research and upgrading the performance of the Activator
Continuing Education for the Doctors
Gentle and Specific adjustments
The Activator has changed over the years and Dr. Noren-Lewis brought examples of the different models and let us get a feel for how much pressure is released by the Activator when it is in use.
Most of her clients at Always Gentle Chiropractic come in for preventative care which is the basic principle of Chiropractic care – the Wheel of Health – Regular Adjustments, Proper Nutrition, Adequate Exercise, Good Posture and a Positive Mental Attitude.

The second speaker today was Kelly Baillie, owner of Linc Carpet Care in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. At Linc Carpet Care they take every effort to make your carpet cleaning experience the best with them. They start by providing their clients with detailed information to help them prepare for the carpet cleaning process. They only charge for the areas that they actually clean! If you have ever shopped around for a carpet cleaner, you have more than likely come across a “5 Room Special”. Those types of advertisements can be misleading. The consumer, doesn’t define the size of the room —the cleaner does. And some cleaners charge you for the whole room, even when furniture takes up space. At LINCS, they don’t practice that type of marketing tactic, they believe in developing a relationship with their customers. The goal is to be the last carpet cleaner you ever need to call!
For those of us that need to do some spring cleaning keep LINCS Carpet Care in mind because their services are not limited to the indoors, they also clean outdoor cushions, car interiors and area rugs. Kelly also went over the interior items that they clean and it’s not just rugs anymore, LINCS Carpet care will also clean your wood floors, tile, indoor upholstery, oriental rugs and even braided rugs (with special testing). So they can help you with all of your spring cleaning needs! The other thing to look at with spring here is the spring time floods – things to watch out for are washer lines, sprinkler lines, water heaters and those water lines that lead to the outdoors. The other item to check is whether you are covered for flood and water intrusion through your insurance policy, especially with our unpredictable spring weather this year. We all need to be aware of what our policy limits are and what we are covered for, not all policies cover flooding. Denver Disaster Solutions can help you out when water issues crop up to make sure that all the water is removed, the area is dry and the area is taken care of so you won’t have issues of mold later. So, when considering spring cleaning or flood restoration, give Kelly at LINCS Carpet Care and Denver Disaster Solutions a call – they can take care of all of your cleaning needs!
